Over the course of two years we were allowed to film David Lynch as he worked on his latest film INLAND EMPIRE. Over 700 hours of footage was gathered both on location and in David's home. This film will give the most current perspective on one of cinema's greatest directors and will bring to life his creative process and joy for living life to its fullest potential.

Bon Cop Bad Cop

Just watched this one tonight.Imagine Lethal Weapon but on the Ont/Que border. Fun made in Canada buddy cop flick. Enough jokes about the French, the English and Canada in general keep you amused (and to fly over heads south of the border.) It was a top grossing film in Quebec.

Funny CSI Miami movie

One of the primary reason's I can't watch CSI Miami, collected in one huge movie. Watch and pull your hair out, or put your sunglasses on. After about a minute you give into it and yet the absurdity wash over you. Anyone think Matrix?

Enternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I actually had Zip.ca send me the bonus disc of the 2 disc set cuz I wanted to watch the extras. I watched them last night. I am even more convinced Michel Gondry is a genius.
If you haven't seen this movie, I really suggest you do. Even if you don't like the story, watch all the tricks employed. What makes this movie even more amazing is how of many of the tricks are low-fi, not computerzied. For example the extras reveal several scenes where the actors need to be in several spots on the set within one shot, requiring them to run through trap doors,change clothes and then act within seconds. You really get the sense that Gondry knows he can do all this stuff digitally, but it wouldn't be as fun! Watching the extras now makes me want to watch the film again.

Stranger Than Fiction

Went in ready to watch the comedy that was marketed on the trailers, commercial, etc. Sure all the funny bits you saw in the trailer were there, but they were around a more poignant movie, full of great characters. Subtle in delivery, it will probably bore the teenage crowd who came to see the silly version of Will Ferrell, who wasn't silly at all. Some amazing moments of acting, some wonderfully bizzare bits, and a story that makes you wonder about your life. I can't ask for much more from a movie.

the New Bond

I have to say I like what they did with this. There was no way they could keep going the way they did with the last few films. This new Bond is all about personal politics, rather than the big stuff. Fighting terrorism one thug at a time rather than disabling the laser pointing at Earth from space! Inbetween you see flashes of humanity and the inner turmoil he goes through. If you like James Bond, you need to see this one!

Pandora's Box The Criterion Collection

Finally! This classic silent film is finally available on DVD and the wait was worth it. Criterion is in charge and the package includes a ton of extras. See the link for details. This film from 1929 is considered to be Louise Brook's defining role. I pre-ordered this DVD and anxiously await it's release at the end of the month.

And perhaps none of his female stars shone brighter than Kansas native and onetime Ziegfeld girl Louise Brooks, whose legendary persona was defined by Pabst's lurid, controversial melodrama Pandora's Box. Sensationally modern, the film follows the downward spiral of the fiery, brash, yet innocent showgirl Lulu, whose sexual vivacity has a devastating effect on everyone she comes in contact with. Daring and stylish, Pandora's Box is one of silent cinema's great masterworks and a testament to Brooks's dazzling individuality.

Syriana

Watched this one last night. From the same guy who made Traffic, and it shows, it's very well done. The multi-narrative story with an ensemble cast, like George Clooney says in the extras, the star of the show is the screenplay. At time bewilderingly confusing, the story does make one thing very clear, in the shadowy world where business and politics meet, it's all designed to confuse who's right and who's wrong.
