Behind the scenes: Shooting up north
people often ask what it's like to travel in the NWC's Plane. It's cozy! My Bose noise canceling headphones come in handy!
We work through each of the stores documenting the staff and costumers. People laugh at my feeble attempts to learn Northern Cree or Inutituk.
COLD doesn't even begin to suggest what it's like to shoot outside in Iqualit. Rob Peters of Circle Design provides direction as we shoot a young mom outside her home.

Afftera quick snowmobile ride from the airport to the store in Cape Dorset, Joan Rob and I enjoy FUN TO Go! to warm up. The 3-4 minute snowmobile ride manages to chill all of us to the bone. Our driver wasn't wearing gloves or a hat!
While we've rarely been this cold, kids in the community enjoy slushies year 'round.
