This one's for Rob! Any OS on a MAC!

This could get more people buying Apple hardware, even more than Apple's Bootcamp, released yesterday. Personally I'd love to get a machine running some different OSes to see what their like.

Parallels announced today that it is beginning beta testing for Parallels Workstation 2.1 for Mac OS X, the first virtualization software that gives Apple users the ability to simultaneously run Windows, Linux or any other operating system and their applications alongside Mac OS X on an Intel-powered Apple computer.

Virtualization is a big topic at work. We are almost coming full circle after we retired the single mainframe and went to distributed systems. Now we are running systems hosting multiple virtual guests. Interesting stuff.

For home users, I'd be setting up virtual systems for kids so when they infect their OS, just reimage it and go.
