Portrait Photographer Arnold Newman Dies At 88

yah know how everyone laments the passing on of one of the old classic rock n rollers from the 50's and 60's?

It's kinda like that. But which rocker would Newman be? Not the Chuck Berry or Jerry Lee, maybe Buddy Holly?

The National Post had his obit in today's paper, and that is where I found out.

He spoke in a Kodak Lecture Series at Ryerson in the 90s, and that his portrait of Alfried Krupp, that was taken in the same factory where the Nazis built machinery to wipe out Jews, is probably his most disturbing portrait. He said that Krupp, who profited greatly from the Nazi regime, was the embodiment of evil, and he felt that was the only way he could really portray him. . . image speaks for itself.
