XML.com: What is RSS?

People often ask how I can find so many cool links or stories or whatever, off the web. The answer is I use RSS. Follow the link to get the geeky story, but for most news or blog type sties you'll see a little RSS/XML link. That's the link you "subscribe" to in your RSS reader, a separate app. Then as the site gets updated the headlines, and sometimes the copy of an entry shows up in the reader, an easy link to your browser to follow it, if you desire, is available. You can scan hundreds of websites in a glance. I use NetNewsWire Lite a free app for OS X. There are several to choose from.
